How to Donate Artifacts to the Richmond Museum of History & Culture

The Richmond Museum Association (RMA) has been actively collecting materials related to our city’s history for over 70 years, making us the oldest organization dedicated to the preservation and education of Richmond, Calif. history. All items ultimately accepted into the Museum’s collection reflects the RMA’s Mission and are in a condition that the museum can confidently preserve and store; the majority of our Museum’s collections are donated items from past and present Richmond residents who entrust us with both the ability to safeguard their family heirlooms and to make good use of them via our educational efforts.

If you have objects that reflect Richmond’s history, contact Victoria Stuhr, Collections Manager, at victoria@richmondmuseum.org

WITHIN YOUR EMAIL, please provide pictures of the items along with a description and historical origin if known. Drop off and unsolicited mail-in donations are not encouraged.

We have the right to decline objects if they do not fit our criteria or are in poor condition. The RMA cannot guarantee that objects accepted into the collection will be placed on display. For the safety of our collections, please ensure that the items you wish to donate are dusted, nonhazardous, and free of any pests. Appraisals are not a part of our practice.
