Fall 2024 Feature Film Series: Saving Private Ryan (1998)

During 1944, our museum ship, the Red Oak Victory, was launched and historic developments took place in the history of World War II, including D-Day, the liberation of Rome, and the Battle of the Bulge. We will celebreat this anniversary year with a galaxy of recent film classics. Join us for a night aboard a real Victory ship and with an audience who appreciates vintage Hollywood films.

FILM DESCRIPTION:

Captain John Miller (Tom Hanks) takes his men behind enemy lines to find Private James Ryan, whose three brothers have been killed in combat. Surrounded by the brutal realties of war, while searching for Ryan, each man embarks upon a personal journey and discovers their own strength to triumph over an uncertain future with honor, decency and courage.
