The Richmond Museum of History is delighted to celebrate the 100th anniversary of “Richmond Day” at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition with a public program featuring a performance by the Contra Costa Chorale, followed by a lecture by award-winning author Laura Ackley! Richmond Day at PPIE commemorated the 10th anniversary of the city’s incorporation, so the program is also a celebration of Richmond’s birthday.
Ms. Ackley’s book San Francisco’s Jewel City: The Panama Pacific International Exposition of 1915 won the California Book Award, Gold Medal for Californiana and was a finalist for the Northern California Book Award for General Nonfiction. San Francisco’s Jewel City will be available for purchase at the event.
The program is free with general admission of $5 for adults, $3 for seniors/students, and children under 12 are free. Members are always free!
